The tenth annual of the largest European trade fair of transport technologies – InnoTrans 2014 – was held in Berlin on 23-26 September 2014. As usual, companies associated with OLTIS Group took an active part in the exhibition. Their common exposition was located in the hall 4.1, stand 306. Thus we were surrounded by leading suppliers in railway industry such as Hacon, Huawei, Kapsch and others.

The participation in the exhibition was of a great benefit to us, both business and professional-wise. The evidence for this is the number of meetings performed with current and potential customers, partners from academia and international organisations.

Professional-wise, a large enrichment was mainly getting in contact with current trends in European rails, with major competitors in the field of information technologies for transport and also with the brilliant development in the area of railway vehicles.

A great success celebrated the information about the involvement of OLTIS Group in the joint technological initiative SHIFT²RAIL, which was approved by European Council regulation no. 642/2014 in June of this year. In cooperation with European Commission, there will be 920 million EUR expend on railway research and innovation in years 2015-2020.

SHIFT²RAIL will be one of the main topics of the international conference dedicated to the development of new technologies in railway freight transport IRFC (International Rail Freight Conference) and simultaneously the issue of railway research and innovation ERRIC (European Railway Research and Innovation Conference), which is organized by OLTIS Group in Prague on 18-20 March 2015.
