During InnoTrans2018, Violeta Bulc, European Commissioner for Transport, handed over the ‘Shift2Rail Research & Innovation Award 2018’ for the ‘Digitalisation’ category to the coordinator of the IT2Rail project. The OLTIS Group Company was one of the 27 consortium members.

IT2Rail project is a successful project within the first call of the Horizon 2020 program. The aim of the project is to provide a new seamless travel experience, giving access to a complete multimodal travel. A consortium of companies was handling the project, which consisted of 27 partners from 9 European countries. The project ran in 2015 – 2018.

The coordinator of the entire consortium was UNIFE. OLTIS Group has been involved in 7 work packages out of a total of 9. Moreover, it has acted as a leader of the WP4 working package Trip Tracker, where it has made the largest and most important part of the work.

A special emphasis has been placed on satisfaction of particular needs and preferences of passengers. Several sub-applications such as Travel Shopper, Trip Tracker, Travel Companion, IF Asset Manager or IT2Rail Broker have been created for this purpose.
