For the third time already, the Polish – Czech conference and exhibition „Bocznica trzeciego tysiąclecia – Nowoczesne technologie w zarządzaniu bocznicami kolejowymi” (Siding of the 3rd Millennium – Modern technology in the management of railway sidings) took place on 20th – 22nd February, traditionally, in the hotel “Muflon” in Ustroń near Bielsko Biala.

The organizer of the conference was as last year Polská Izba Producentów Urządzeń i Usług na Rzecz Kolei (The Polish Chamber of Manufacturers, Equipment and Services for the Railways) and the main partners were the companies: První Signální from Ostrava, KZA from Krakow and OLTIS Group a.s. The other sponsors were PKP Cargo service, Jastrzębska Spółka Kolejowa, Jerid Polska, Graw and Trade-Port.

This year again the event was held under the auspices of the ambassador of the Czech Republic in Poland – Jan Sechter.

The conference moderator was the director of JERID Polska, Tomáš Kroča. In the beginning of the conference, Hana Rulíšková from OLTIS Group a.s. presented the course of the implementation of the information system in the company PKP LHS. Michal Šlachta from První Signální and Edward Jacek Kwarciak, the director of Krakowskich Zakładów Automatyki S.A., revealed to the participants the course of the development of their companies and they introduced their strategy for the next years. Juliusz Grabczyk described how the company RAW contributes to the technical equipment of the modern siding and the representatives of Rail Tech Papla presented the means of rail lubrication. The condition of the technical potential and experience in the field of railway transport and the comprehensive service of sidings was presented by Andrzej Ludwin from PKP CARGO SERVICE. There was also discussion on the topic of Modernization of the infrastructure of the siding safety device (Andrzej Wiśniewski, KZA) and the interesting details from the implementation of the complex information system in Unipetrol Doprava (Tomáš Kroča, JERID Polska). At the end of the conference, the participants saw the development in the implementation Pomorskiej Kolei Metropolitalnej, which was presented by Tomasz Konopacki.

The fourth conference will take place in the first quarter of 2014.
