The OLTIS Group Company successfully completed solution of the research and development project LOGCENTRA – “Support of Logistic Centres for Combined Transportation Specialized in the Backbone Railway Transportation – Procedural Model and Development of an Integrated Information System.”

The project was implemented with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and its programme Permanent Prosperity. The project team consisted of three companies, OLTIS Group as the project coordinator, Institute Jan Pernera and ČDT – Informační Systémy as the project partners. The project solution took 38 months, in the period from November 2008 to December 2011.

One of the ways how to realize economical intensification in the logistic chain is the technology of central warehousing i.e. creation of logistic centres for combined transportation. The intention of the project is to create an integrated information system for process management of goods transportation within the framework of the logistic centres network. The integrated information system will ensure above all support for operational decision-making based on acquired information, door-to-door transportation along with optimalization of means of transport use and further sources to minimize costs, providing comprehensive information for on-line vehicle movement and consignment (transport unit) status monitoring in the course of the whole door-to-door transportation process.

Resulting project solution is quite new and in pilot operation verified information system covering problems of logistic centres for combined transport. The part of this solution is also application for mobile terminals and web extension.

This project has been funded with support from the state budget via Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic
