The nineteenth year of two-day conference EURO ŽEL 2011, with the motto “Recent Challenges for European railways”, was held from 8 to 9 June, 2011 at the University of Zilina under the auspices of the CETRA Slovakia and with the support of European Commission.

The symposium was attended by more than 100 participants from 11 countries, among them representatives of several universities, research centers, companies engaged in the production of infrastructure parts and localization systems.

A wide range of sections was available within the expert program for the two days – Construction and maintenance of infrastructure, Railway services for passengers, Railway vehicles, Rail traffic management, Control and security systems in rail transport, Localization systems, and Control and information systems. Each of the sections contained three to four presentations related to the core subject.

Ms. Zuzana Velčovská from OLTIS Group company had a speech at the conference and also contributions of other three OLTIS Group representatives were published in the conference proceedings.

Evening Program – Round table discussion – was intended for an informal meeting of participants to discuss both lectures and related topics.
